Pivot 2016 was filled with speakers and activities centered around leadership, determination, innovation, changes in the workplace and entrepreneurship. 4 Time Olympic Gold Medalist, Tamika Catchings, spoke about her journey, making the most of her setbacks, working hard—both in season and off season—determined to improve herself and her team. She brought inspiration to guests as she talked about her perseverance and leadership through her journey to the Olympics.
Other speakers discussed entrepreneurship, leadership, modern technological advances, and change and growth in organizational management. And, as a fun bonus, guests finished the day with a hands-on demonstration, from Brian Graham, on how to properly taste sample beer.

The 2017 Pivot event centered around adaptation, innovation and competition. The day began in high speed with discussions from our morning speaker, Marek Kwasniewski, (and our panelists) about Artificial Intelligence in the workplace. Guests were wowed by the new technological advances and their impact on every day life.
The rest of the day flew by as participants enjoyed a complimentary lunch and listened to Indy 500 Racing Legend, Sarah Fisher, as she spoke about her challenges from her racing days to her transition into entrepreneurship. The event came to an end at the finish line of the Indianapolis Speedway Indoor Race Track where guests had the opportunity to race Fisher. Participants walked away with fresh ideas, networked connections and high-speed race times!

Four times Olympic Gold medalist Tamika Catchings was by far the highlight of PIVOT. She shared her personal struggles from childhood along with overcoming obstacles while focusing on her goal, playing professional basketball. She spoke about the importance of PIVOTing in everything you do. Always reevaluating on how to keep yourself and your brand relevant, on and off the court. She shared the challenges she faced during her basketball career and how the help and guidance of good leaders gave her the ability to rise above and become an effective leader on and off the court.
City of Fishers
Scott Fadness has been the Mayor of the City of Fishers, IN, since December of 2014. Before his election, he served as Fishers’ Town Manager from 2011-2014 and Deputy Town Manager of Operations from 2009-2011 where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of public works, engineering, fleet management and parks and recreation. As Town Manager, he reorganized town departments to streamline government services, create greater efficiencies and save Fishers’ taxpayers millions of dollars – all while doubling Fishers’ cash reserves.

Prior to joining LEAP in 2014, he worked for a Fortune 200 firm for over a decade where he was responsible for a nationwide team dedicated to consulting large organizations on how to use technology and insights to improve business results. He also co-founded an early stage drug development firm in 2009 that focused on developing ‘smart’ therapies for the treatment of severe bone disorders. As a child, he dreamed of being a professional baseball player. Today, you can find him spending time with his family doing various outdoor activities, coaching soccer, basketball and girls lacrosse and being on the Girls Basketball Fishers/HSE Board of Directors.

Gary is Leap Managed I.T.’s partner and president. He is known for his creative problem-solving skills, witty humor, and ability to connect people. Being at LEAP since 1995, he has seen it all. He’s not one to back down from a challenge and really enjoys helping clients when they need it the most. He loves seeing clients reach new successes and is the first in line to rally around clients when they knock it out of the park. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and their dogs and volunteering as a board member for the Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County.
Indy 500 Racing Legend
American Indy Racing legend & Entrepreneur Sarah Fisher shared her story as a female driver in the Indy Car circuit. She walked us through her challenges and how important it was to have family support and other female mentors. They helped pave the way for her. She told stories of her racing days in the Indy 500. Then, she shared about her transition from race car driver to business owner and the obstacles of reinventing yourself as an entrepreneur. She shared her struggles of finding her way in the business world, securing financing and getting SIK off the ground. In the end, she made many race fans dreams come true by racing on the SIK, a two level track, with a couple of our attendees.
Executive Director of Artificial Intelligence at UBS
Marek Kwasniewski is a self-made, self-taught I.T. visionary who is changing the face of Artificial Intelligence. From his childhood days of building his own computers to developing software and helping companies run more efficiently with the use of technology, Marek always has a lot to share. His background in the banking world as Head of Architecture at BNYMellon and current Executive Director of AI at UBS makes him an industry trailblazer. He is a sought-after speaker in the world of innovation as his projects have been featured in the Wall Street Journal. He spoke at Pivot with great enthusiasm and got the crowd excited about the future of innovation. He shared his experiences in AI development and its impact on every day life and the future of various fields.
